Baptist Sports Medicine Wins Williamson County Schools Contract to Provide Complimentary Athletic Training Services
Nashville, Tenn. - Baptist Sports Medicine, a division of Saint Thomas Health Services (STHS) Outpatient Rehabilitation, is pleased to announce a partnership with the Williamson County School System. The partnership will allow Baptist Sports Medicine to provide athletic training for every middle and high school located within the school system.
“We could not be happier about this partnership with the Williamson County Schools,” said Alex Pinto, Director of Athletic Medicine for Baptist Sports Medicine. “This opportunity will allow Baptist Sports Medicine to provide premier athletic training services to the middle and high school athletes in Williamson County.”
The new contract between Baptist Sports Medicine and Williamson County Schools will begin July 1 and will last for one year. It can be renewed upon mutual agreement up to three additional years.
The contract has multiple specifications, which include:
One trainer will be assigned to each high school. The same athletic trainer will also cover a related middle school.
All athletic trainers serving the district must be NATA certified. And all Certified Athletic Trainers must be licensed by the state.
The vendor must perform background checks on all training staff and personnel serving in the district, and all trainers must pass the background checks.
Athletic trainers must be able to communicate and cooperate with coaches, students, parents and district staff in a professional manner.
Provide care and prevention of athletic injuries, evaluation, modality applications and rehabilitation.
The awarded vendor must provide a team physician who is board-certified or non-resident board eligible in orthopedics and/or sports medicine for high school football contests.
The vendor will provide, perform and administer the WCS Impact-Concussion Test Program.
Non-sanctioned club sports such as lacrosse, rugby, hockey, etc. are excluded from the vendor contract. However, if these sports become sanctioned, the district will negotiate for any possible additional compensation in order to ratify such activities.
