BAPTIST SPORTS MEDICINE HIRES CERTIFIED SPECIALIST IN SPORTS DIETETICS
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Baptist Sports Medicine has recently hired Mari-Etta Parrish, R.D., L.D./N, Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics, to join their dynamic team of specialists.
As the only Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics in Middle Tennessee, Parrish provides effective, evidence-based nutrition services that include assessment, nutrition diagnosis, intervention, counseling and follow-up evaluation for health and performance athletes, sports organizations, and physically active individuals and groups.
In addition, she brings with her a wide variety of clients ranging from weekend warriors to elite athletes.
“We could not be happier about Mari-Etta joining the team,” says Trent Nessler, Managing Director of Baptist Sports Medicine. “Her services not only add to the depth of our program, but meet needs here in Middle Tennessee we were not previously able to meet.”
The Board Certification as a Specialist in Sports Dietetics credential is designed as the premier professional sports nutrition credential in the United States. Parrish’s services include, but are not limited to, personalized sports medical nutrition therapy for special populations, such as: cardiovascular conditions, diabetes, disabled athletes, disordered eating, and high blood pressure; creating, developing and managing customized sports nutrition programs; and applying the science of sports nutrition to ultimately enhance fitness and performance.
“It is my mission to merge athletes with a healthy lifestyle and nutrition,” says Parrish. “Whether that is for people just trying to get in shape, or high-profile athletes, I want to make sure athletes of all skill levels understand the importance of health and nutrition in sports.”
Parrish earned her Bachelor’s degree from Lipscomb University in Dietetics and Exercise Science. She is a Registered Dietician and Certified Personal Trainer. In addition to working with Baptist Sports Medicine, she is also the sole proprietor of Healthlete.
